Used for quantitative determination of myeloperoxidase (MPO) in human serum, plasma and whole blood in vitro.

MPO is closely associated with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).MPO exists mainly in neutrophils and monocytes addicted to the azure particles, inflammation when activated neutrophil degranulation and release myeloperoxidase, it lead to unstable coronary atherosclerosis lesions or even rupture, exposed intravascular subcutaneous collagen tissue, the subsequent platelet adhesion to the aggregation and thrombosis, coronary artery occlusion, acute coronary syndrome, and even serious irreversible ischemic myocardial damage.MPO promotes plaque formation and increased instability and causes ACS by producing free radicals and a variety of reactive substances.A large number of clinical studies have shown that the serum MPO level in ACS patients is significantly increased, and MPO can be used as a new diagnostic factor for adverse cardiovascular events in ACS patients to identify those patients who are at high risk of cardiovascular events.
